New Titles, same job

So after this week at work, several of my co-workers have determined that I have a new title - Crisis Manager. Personally I would prefer Service Recovery Specialist but considering that they throw every crisis at me perhaps Crisis Manager is appropriate. But then, what company wants to really admit that they have Crises so often that they have to have someone who does nothing but manage them.

My typical day consists of Service Recovery for clients and employees of clients, gathering the data to drill down to the real issues, solving problems for any and all departments, calming people down and pointing them in the direction of solutions, and proposing proactive processes which will prevent problems (that is amazingly alliterative).

So, would that title draw your attention on a resume? What would you think about it?

Crisis Manager definitely gives a bad feeling. You're right, what company wants to admit that they need a dedicated *team* (because to me, at least, being a manager implies having subordinates reporting directly to you) to handle crises.

As far as I can tell, you're a Customer Service Manager. You happen to focus on servicing problems, but it's still CSM. And at least as far as a resume goes, I'd want to stick with more well-known and accepted categories. You can always explain your focus in summary under the duties section and in detail at the interview.

It's the customer service manager who is bringing me her problems, and the billing manager, and the bookkeeper,etc.

My org chart title is client representative.
